Dubbo Show
If you're visiting Dubbo in April and May, you should definitely
check out the Dubbo Show. Get to experience the local produce, see
prized local livestock, and marvel at the handicrafts and artwork of the
people of Dubbo and surrounds.
The Dubbo Show
Traditionally, the focus is on steer and heifer that are judged for
their hoofs and hooks. Side-by-side, this show is also attended by young
enthusiasts of New South Wales who take part in many interesting
competitions.
Details of the Dubbo show
The Dubbo Show continues for three days and its other events are wood
chopping, motor displays and bands. It usually opens at 8.30 am and
there are also night shows at 4.00 pm during the weekend. If you are
eager to stay close to the NSW soil, visit the Dubbo Show Society
Markets that will offer you samples of local handicrafts. The Macquarie
Valley Food and Wine Farmer's Markets is another spot that will gratify
your taste-buds with the ‘Dubbo flavour’.
The Dubbo Show watch outs
You can avail the following facilities in the Dubbo Showground:
- Expo Centre: An arrangement of bar, media room, 3 small offices
and kitchen for 200 people
- Ewen McInnes Pavilion: This is the spot for holding the cattle
show and it extends up to 5500 square metres area
- Expo Pavilion is a smaller undercover venue
- Ray Clarke Pavilion: This is a pretty open shed equipped with
sliding doors.
- Centenary Pavilion is a similar space.
- There are also a number of sheds, stables and a seating
arrangement for 500 people.
Located in New South Wales, Australia, Dubbo is known as the
fun-lovers’ haven. The central attraction is of course the open-range
Western Plains Zoo that stores many rare species of birds and animals
from all over the world. If you are not too fond of visiting captivated
animals, you can certainly enjoy a trip to the historic Dundullimal
Homestead. For a change, you can visit the Pony Club of Dubbo that holds
some exciting events.
